Author's Log: Stardate 06262011

I haven't logged an entry here in a bit because I've been swamped AND I'M LUVIN' IT!

Let me jump right in ... here's what I have going on right now:
+ I've contacted 95 Book Bloggers and have booked 38 stops on my "TWOE PATRIOT Blog Tour!" You can keep up with all of the stops on my blog tour by clicking on the banner next to this log. So far, I've booked 15 book reviews, 11 guest posts, and 7 Q&A sessions, including my interviewing two _TWOE_ characters, the flamboyant David Nicholls and Cris De Niro himself (De Niro doesn't do many interviews). There are a number of FREE book giveaways that will be running at various stops on the tour, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. The whole tour, which launches on July 04th and runs through September 11th should be a fantastic and fun experience for everyone! I hope you tag along with me throughout it as we will all get to meet a bunch of new and great book lovers!

+ Yesterday, I shot a Q&A session with a great Director/friend of mine Philip Nobert of KINGMAKER PRODUCTIONS. This Q&A session is the first of what we hope to be an ongoing relationship between Philip and me for all of my videos, live interviews, book trailers, etc. Anything that has to do with my video marketing and promotion will hopefully be handled by Philip's new venture. The cool thing for all you SelfPubbers to keep an eye out for - is that Philip's new venture will be offering their incredible video services to SelfPubbers. They can be the one-stop solution for all of a self-publishers' visual arts needs - from book trailers, to website creation, to Q&A shoots, live appearances and so much more. It's not a done deal yet, so you'll have to stay tuned - in the meantime, my Q&A should be out by July 4th, so you can get to see the quality of Philip Norbert's productions. I was blown away!!! Thanks also to Philip's cinematographer and friend Jay Nemeth of FlightLine Films. Jay shot the interview with Philip. I'm going to have Philip guest post on my website blog in the near future, to introduce himself and his new venture.

+ I met with Aaron McCaslin of Retrospect Records last weekend to discuss the upcoming release of a boxed set of my old rock band AMERICADE's music. The box set is going to be called "AMERICADENCE" and will include lots of previously never-released music. It should be a great treat to AMERICADE fans the world over ... and we're dedicating the box set to the memory of my rock brother - AMERICADE founding member and drummer Walt "Wildman" Woodward III. It's going (we hope) to coincide with the launch of my TWOE PATRIOT Blog Tour.

+ Aaron of Restrospect Records is also working on digitizing our award-winning MTV video from back in 1983 - "We're An American Band." It has never appeared on the internet so it should be a really cool nugget for A-boyz fans!

If things work out - I may also launch a music project that will integrate with my book themes. I'm targeting 2012 for attempting to write some new music and gather my musical friends together to make it happen! More to come ...

+ My 10-year old son Ryan has written two original piano pieces that I'm going to use as background music on a page or two of my www.GerarddeMarigny.com website. I'm very proud of him! My oldest son Jared is part of my editing team and now my 2nd oldest is contributing his original music ... life doesn't get cooler than that for me!

+ If/when things work out with my Director-friend Philip Norbert and the new visual arts production company he's working on - I may be shooting my first-ever book trailer for _The Watchman of Ephraim_! Stay tuned for updates on that. We also have a number of other exciting VIDEO ideas in the concept stage - all expanding on my/our SelfPubbing world. I'm stoked about ALL of it!

+ Since I had to put completing _SIGNS OF WAR_ on the back burner until I did all the work for the blog tour (and there's a BUNCH of work - writing guest blogs, interviews, sending out requests, promoting, etc) - I'm intending to get back to completing _SOW_ in July. I hope to have the first draft written by the end of July and then we'll utilize the month of August for editing, beta reading, cover art creation, and formatting. If all goes to plan, _SIGNS OF WAR_, the sequel to _The Watchman of Ephraim_ will be released in September, prior to September 11th!

That's the skinny ... back to it!
